Community Action’s Latino/a Advisory Committee (LAC), local immigrant advocates, and Mount Vernon students will present a program of slides, stories, and discussion to demonstrate the strengths and skills immigrants offer to our community – their home.

The organizer of this event is Claudia Avendaño Palomera of Community Action’s Board and LAC, also assisting is Bethany Dearborn of Tierra Nueva.

Presenters include: Janice Blackmore, Migrant Graduation Specialist with MVSD; Diana Morelli, EDASC & LAC; Melanie Coyne, Skagit Literacy & LAC; Rev. Josefina Beecher, Episcopal Hispanic ministry & LAC; Anita Ordoñez, Director, Multicultural Student Services at SVC & LAC; Jesse Cavazos, Migrant Education & LAC; Tino Gallegos, Immigration Attorney; and MVSD students.
